Federations and Philanthropy News Update, June 24, 2015

During last week’s mission to Ukraine, Federation leaders visited displaced Jewish families and witnessed latent anti-Semitism. The Federation-funded Secure Community Network provides a strong example of the type of communal efforts that can help keep faith institutions safe. Joined by Jewish groups from every religious stream, Federations’ Rabbinic Cabinet declares a solidarity Sabbath with the African American community in recognition of the Charleston, SC murders. A JFNA innovation grant helps a local Ohio community test crowdfunding to repair a Jewish synagogue.

Meanwhile, Federations are featured in Toronto, Sacramento, Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Eastern Connecticut and Palm Beach County.
