Jewish Federations of North America applaud the House Appropriations Committee for advancing the FY27 National Security, Department of State Appropriations Act, which included key priorities for our Jewish communities, including, but not limited to, $3.3 Billion in Foreign Military Financing Program funds to Israel, and $37.5 Million for the Nita Lowey Middle East Partnership for Peace Act.
We are grateful to the committee's demonstrated commitment to the core priorities of the American Jewish community and Israel's security. Federations supported multiple policies throughout the FY27 Appropriations cycle, including: increased security funding; expanding access to vital resources for Holocaust survivors and other older adults with a history of trauma; and combatting global antisemitism. Federations call upon the full House and Senate to pass these measures and look forward to working with partners on Capitol Hill to ensure the final bills meet the Jewish community's needs and reaffirms the federal government's duty to protect every citizen.
